12 Million customer records stolen - Korea

Victim Count = 3 (This  is a careless one)


The surprise is that for this company, this is the third data breach ,in two years.

I am not a pro regulation guy but I think unless governments start imposing massive financial penalties, companies will always continue to make security promises and will never keep them.

The company involved is not a SMB, it is the 2nd biggest telecom company in Korea.

What is shameful is is that the data grab apparently went undetected by KT for an entire year with the suspects allegedly snatching up to 300,000 records in a single day.
